Massive trees, majestic waterfalls, a meandering river that meets the sea, flowers, birds and fascinating fish are but a few of the attractions that draw people to Goldstream Provincial Park, a mere 16 km from downtown Victoria on southern Vancouver Island. It’s a world that seems far removed from the urban adventures of British Columbia’s capital city, whether the visitor is a hiker seeking inspiration from this magnificent example of the great outdoors or a naturalist looking to add to their notebook. There’s something new, different and exciting every month of the year at Goldstream Park. Check www.naturehouse. ca for more information.

Goldstream has a large day-use/picnic area with a picnic shelter, woodstove, flush toilets, fire rings and numerous picnic tables. Nature walks and trails of varying lengths starting at the day-use area offer the opportunity to see some of the park's more notable features. The Goldstream Nature House can be reached by a short trail from the day-use area parking lot. For reservable group site facilities please contact BC Parks camping .
This park offers vehicle accessible campsites in a forest setting. Campsite reservations are accepted and recommended during the peak season. Some first-come, first-served sites are also available. Goldstream Park is open year round; however facilities are limited during the winter season.
There are two group campsites at Goldstream Park: Prospector and Goldminer. They are located adjacent to each other and across the highway from the campground area near park headquarters. These sites are reservable up to one year in advance. Each groupsite can accommodate up to 100 campers/picnickers and can be booked for overnight camping or daytime picnics. There is a shelter available in each site that includes hot and cold running water (March to October), sinks, potbelly stoves, picnic tables and counters along with electricity for small appliances. The communal fire pit in each location has benches surrounding it and overlooks a large field area suited for tenting and games. Vehicles must park on the gravel as there is a sprinkler system in the field area. Large tents used for wedding and special events must be set up in consultation with the Park Manager to ensure the water lines are not damaged. The groupsite locations are private and have access to the Goldstream day-use area via a trail system. Reservations are accepted up to 1 year in advance of arrival.
Campfires are allowed in designated fire rings provided that a fire ban is not in effect. Firewood is available for purchase in the park. To preserve vegetation and ground cover, please do not gather firewood from the area around your campsite or elsewhere in the park (this is a ticketable offence under the Park Act). Dead wood is an important habitat element for many plants and animals and it adds organic matter to the soil. It is illegal to burn wood or material from the forest because it is destructive and damages the protected ecosystems within the park.
